I have just returned to my office after spending an exhilarating week at SpiceWorld 2017, and I can honestly say that I now understand why thousands of SpiceHeads arrive in Austin Texas each October to take part in the event. It’s one heck of a celebration for SMB IT professionals and all things new in IT.
SpiceWorks, a collaborative community that boldly claims (and rightly so) that their online forum is “Where you come to do your job and master your work” took that maxim to the next level when they set about to create an agenda for their annual event. Dozens of informative sessions delivered by some of the smartest people in the industry, numerous opportunities to network with peers, and a vibrant exhibit hall – SpiceWorks 2017 truly offered a well-rounded program for the 2000+ attendees who came from all over the world to learn how to improve their IT game.
Here are some additional details about the event that you may find interesting:
- 75% of attendees came from companies sized 1-500. This is exactly the right audience – small to midsize size businesses – that looks to HPE for Morto Viagra value and solutions that are designed for the unique business and computing needs of smaller companies.
- HPE delivered five sessions to over 650 participants, four on our ProLiant capabilities and benefits, and one on Nimble. We also participated in a lively panel discussion on IT security with our colleagues from Cisco, and presented several well-received interactive demonstrations. These opportunities allowed us to share insight and learnings with attendees to help them better understand how tools from our HPE SMB portfolio could drive performance for their companies.
- We arrived back home with requests for follow-up from over 500 customers who wanted to know more about the ways HPE could help their companies grow and prosper.
- HPE won the high approval of attendees and the coveted SpiceWorld “Showstopper Award” for our innovative booth design and presence on the show floor.
We are certainly excited about the enthusiasm generated at SpiceWorld, and plan to use this momentum to reach out to the broader SpiceWorks community to share our strategy, and products and solutions designed specifically for small and midsize size businesses. This is a great time for SMBs to take a look at their aging hardware, and consider all of the benefits they could realize by updating to our new HPE ProLiant Gen10 products.
And finally – I’d like to send a special shout out to my ClearOS colleague Michael Proper at ClearCenter, the great HPE team from Americas and SMB marketing who created and delivered our strong presence at the event, the many SpiceHeads who spent time with us in Austin – and of course our great partners at SpiceWorks.
SpiceWorld 2017 was a terrific event by all accounts, with lots of opportunity for learning, networking and fun. I know we are already looking forward to seeing many of you in Austin next October. https://www.spiceworks.com/spiceworld/
P.S. BizTech.com reported that one big discussion topic among SpiceWorld attendees was the Internet of Things (IoT). HPE enterprise.nxt just published an interesting take on IoT and security.
